You can hardly find any person who does not own a furry friend. In fact, most dog lovers find it hard to leave their four-legged friends home even if they are on a vacation. Unsurprisingly, they may think about taking their dogs along with them on their holidays. When it comes to holiday destinations, there is a wide range of options that you may consider. In this case, you can narrow down the search by considering the pet-friendly cities.

One of the ideal options that you may consider in this case is London. Needless to mention, one of the few things that you are likely to consider as you plan a foreign trip will be the transportation facilities. This factor will be even more prominent when you are traveling with your furry friends. Note that in London, one of the fastest and easiest ways of transportation is underground tube trains. Of course, you may wonder whether or not your dog can accompany you onboard in this case, particularly if you are a first-time visitor.

Thankfully, you can. However, there are certain terms and conditions that you must follow if you opt to bring your domestic canine on the tube. Failing to obey these rules can cost you big. So, some of those important rules that you must follow while traveling with your dog on London tube trains are given below.

On the Tube

Guide dogs and any other dogs that do not come under the category of dangerous dogs are allowed to travel on the tube. However, dogs are not allowed on the seats. Rather, your dog must remain in a crate or on a leash. Besides, you must train your furry pet to behave well since the staff members are not liable to control your dog. There is also a bylaw in the English capital city regarding traveling with animals on London transport. The bylaw states that the transportation authorities can restrict the entry of your dog in case they have any kind of safety concerns and you cannot question it.

In the Station

Before getting into the subway car, you will have to get through the tube station with your pet dog. Note that the station includes platforms, ticket stations, escalators, etc. The most important rule that you must follow here is to carry your dog while climbing up or down an escalator. Otherwise, they are likely to injure their paws.

If your dog is too large to carry, it is advisable to climb up the steps or rely on the lift service. Similarly, you must carry your dogs as you pass through the ticket gates. In case the automatic gates are not wide enough for your dog, you can request the staff members top open the manual gate. On the platform, keep your dogs on a leash and make sure that they behave well.
